Reflections ~ Bruges, Belgium
|
||
As I walked along the edges of the captivating waters of the canals in the lovely medieval town of Bruges in Belgium, the reflections of the buildings in the slowly moving ripples of the water completely captured my attention and imagination. The wavy window shutters framing the upside down windows, the barred doorway now underwater, while pink flower petals and green leaves float on the surface. The hint of a flag nearly hidden at the very top, but now the bottom of the floating roof. And then, right there to my left, the arched bridge revealing the depth of the underside of the umber curves of this ancient bridge. This bridge that has me standing so very still, and silent, as I stare into the seemingly bottomless gold-like arch, and I am grateful that these moments, were not missed, ignored or passed over. Lingering long I just cannot pull my eyes from this opportunity of reflections. |
